Dog - Tina

Tina was brought to the shelter as a puppy with a hip fracture, unable to walk

It was clear that Tina needed emergency surgery to survive. Fortunately SPSN was able to fund her medical care. I adopted her after she recovered, and she’s crazy about fetching balls and sticks.

Foster Dog- Wyatt

Wyatt was unwanted, accidentally run over, then relinquished to the shelter

Poor Wyatt also suffered from an abscess that formed on his broken leg. SPSN’s funding enabled the shelter to obtain exams and x-rays to determine which bones were broken and how they were healing during his recovery. Now he’s in his forever home.

When Bastrop County’s Animals Need Help, We're Here

We’re local and we focus on the specific needs of Bastrop County’s animals. We quickly fund emergency medical care for sick and injured animals at the Bastrop County Animal Shelter. We reduce shelter intake through our own rescue work and our popular Spay/Neuter Certificate program for financially-disadvantaged pet owners. We also aid adoptions by funding out-of-state animal transports and sponsoring adoption events.

We’re 100% volunteer-run, which means when you donate to us every single dollar goes directly to our mission of helping animals. We have minimal bureaucracy and are able to try new programs and ideas fast. We’ve been here since 2019, building trust one rescued life at a time.
